Ugly $500 Dollar Shoes

Some trends slip down easily with the masses: tunic dresses, oversize sunglasses, giant It bags. And then there are trends that only appeal to those who wear fashion goggles, those amazing glasses that make the implausible look desirable—magically morphing, say, dresses with stiffened, puffed shoulders from an alien's version of eighties shoulder pads into a gorgeous mix of modernism and retro referencing. Ugly shoes fall squarely into this latter category. Shoes that look like Transformers, shoes with teapots for heels, shoes with no apparent heels, and the ugliest (and currently most fashionable) of them all: gladiator sandals—fabulously casual to the fashion-goggle wearer, orthopedic and/or geriatric to everyone else.

Although there is something perverse in spending $500 (OK, closer to $1,000) on shoes that are, well, ugly, there's a delightfully honest quality about the trend. A conventionally attractive choice—say, quasi-invisible strappy stilettos—might make the wearer look sexier in an "Oh, yes, I naturally glide through the air like Tinker Bell" sort of way, but if I spend half the month's rent on a pair of shoes, I want people to notice them. OK, maybe this "noticing" comes in the form of them asking, "Why are you wearing my Great-Aunt Gerta's sandals with your jeans?," but at least attention has been paid. shop for designer jeans and makeup at http://www.venusandmarz.com

Breast Damage With Bra Type

Ladies, listen up.

If you’re not wearing the right type of bra, you could be damaging your breasts without even realizing it.

Researchers from the University of Portsmouth in Hampshire, England found that wearing the wrong “support system” could lead to fragile ligaments in the breasts becoming irreparably stretched, the Daily Mail reported.

They found up to 95 percent of women are at risk — mostly because they are ignorant or embarrassed about their true bra size, according to the report.

Researched concluded this after they gave 100 women a treadmill test.

During the past three years, the team studied about 50 bra designs. What they found was that with most bras women’s breasts move up and down, in and out and from side to side, shifting an average of 8.26 inches, during exercise.

Technique Cloning Remaining Hair - Baldness

Millions of men and women who suffer from premature baldness or hair loss could soon be able to regain their original lustrous locks — by cloning their remaining hair in the laboratory, research suggests.

The new technique, known as “follicular cell implantation," has already shown positive results in continuing clinical trials on human beings. The work, being carried out by a British team, is being hailed as a major advance in hair restoration and is backed by a $3.7 million government grant.

The cell therapy has the potential to provide a limitless supply of an individual’s hair to replace that lost because of burns, cancer treatment or simply the onset of age, and could be available to patients within five years.

The latest results of the Phase II trial, presented at a conference of leading hair replacement surgeons in Rome, suggest that the technique can increase hair count in at least two-thirds of patients after six months, and four out of five if the scalp is stimulated beforehand through gentle abrasions that encourage hair growth.

Lips And The Sun

Go easy on the gloss! When you slather on shimmery, shiny lip gloss and balms, you attract more of the sun's light to your lips, increasing the risk of sun damage. No need to go nude, though, as lots of sunscreen lip balms come in cool tones and colors.
Dudes, where's your lip balm? Women are more likely to use UV lip protection than men. But guys still need just as much sun security, so slip a stick of sunscreen-enhanced lip balm into your pocket and apply whenever you'll be outside for more than 20 minutes.
Bottoms up! Perhaps your nose provides some shade, because your lower lip tends to be more prone to sun exposure than the upper lip. Make sure to use plenty of sunscreen balm on your lower lip, and reapply if you go in the water or lick your lips too much over the BBQ.

3 Day Diet

What It Is
Surprisingly surviving the test of time, the 3 Day Diet is another fad diet, dating back to 1985. Copies of the "3 Day Diet" continue to float around cyberspace, promising quick weight loss, cleansing, lower cholesterol, and increased energy. However, no diet book exists to substantiate the science behind the "unique metabolic reaction."
Often mistakenly called The Cleveland Clinic Diet, the 3 Day Diet is a regimented plan that must be followed exactly for three days at a time, followed by normal eating for four or five days before opting to resume the plan again.
Followers of the 3 Day Diet are promised up to a 10 pound weight loss in three days, although realistically, most of that weight is likely due to fluid loss and not the more desirable fat loss. To achieve the proposed loss, exercise is not mentioned in the plan.
What You Can Eat
The 3 Day Diet is a very specific food plan that must be followed precisely. Portions must be eaten exactly as specified and dieters are warned not to overeat -- otherwise the promised 10 pound weight loss may not be achieved. Likewise, dieters should not under-eat, even if they are not hungry. The detailed plan does not mention or recommend any exercise.
The 3 Day Diet meal plan:
Day 1
Breakfast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
1/2 grapefruit or juice
1 piece toast with 1 tablespoon peanut butter
Lunch
1/2 cup tuna
1 piece toast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
Dinner
3 ounces any lean meat or chicken
1 cup green beans
1 cup carrots
1 apple
1 cup regular vanilla ice cream
Day 2
Breakfast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
1 egg
1/2 banana
1 piece toast
Lunch
1 cup cottage cheese or tuna
8 regular saltine crackers
Dinner
2 beef franks
1 cup broccoli or cabbage
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 banana
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream
Day 3
Breakfast
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
5 regular saltine crackers
1 ounce cheddar cheese
1 apple
Lunch
Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal
1 boiled egg
1 piece toast
Dinner
1 cup tuna
1 cup carrots
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup melon
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream
In addition to its strict daily food prescription, dieters drink 4 cups of water or noncaloric drinks daily.
How It Works
By some unspecified magical force, the combination of the suggested foods included in this plan is supposed to create a unique metabolic reaction and boost fat burning.
Without an author or book, there is no documentation or explanation of how the 3 Day Diet food combinations burn fat, increase energy, cleanse the body, or lower cholesterol.
As the name suggests, the 3 Day Diet lasts only three days, though it's said that it can be repeated indefinitely, as long as you alternate with 4-5 days of undefined "normal eating." The purpose of returning to your usual eating style is to keep your metabolism from slowing, reverting to fat-storing, starvation mode.

It Has Been Dubbed The "Boob Jab"

IT has been dubbed the "boob jab" - an injection that boosts the size of a woman's breasts within the space of a lunch hour.
The latest cosmetic craze does not require surgery and can be completed in less than half an hour with no recovery period.
It involves a surgeon injecting a gel-like filler called Macrolane to enlarge or firm up breasts under the guidance of fully-conscious patients.
But the effects are not permanent, lasting between 18 months to two years before a top-up is required.
Neither is it cheap, at around $5000 to $7000. Yet fans say it is a relatively painless and less extreme alternative to breast implants, allowing them to subtly target specific areas without necessarily increasing cup size nor telling their friends.
