Many Uses For Injectables


1. Restylane for droopy pierced-ear holes. Miami dermatologist Leslie Baumann, MD is the author of the Yahoo Health blog The Skin Guru, where she says “Restylane can be injected below your piercing hole to plump the earlobes and help support your earrings.”

2. Radiesse for non-surgical nose job has been around for a while. Alexander Rivkin, a facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California has been offering injection rhinoplasty since 2004, catching the attention of the Today show.

3. Sculptra injections for that annoying stiletto heel pain: Miami cosmetic physician and podiatrist (also official foot doc of the Miami Heat) Dr. Cynthia Marzouka-Losito uses Sculptra to create “a pillow-like cushion on the ball of the foot” to fill atrophied areas of the sole of the foot.

4. Silikon 1000 was made originally for the eyeball: Twin Cities dermatologist Patrick Carney, MD prefers it for lip augmentation.

5. Botox for chronic low back pain: Botox Therapeutic is being studied in Washington DC by two Army physicians for the treatment of low back pain – but only for injuries impacting the back muscles.
