Diamond Thong Worth $168,000

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A diamond thong worth $168,000 ($122,000) was the highlight of a lingerie fashion show in Singapore on Thursday.
The Triumph Luxurious Diamond Thong had 518 brilliant-cut diamonds, totaling 30 carats, studded into the front of a black lace thong in a floral pattern. The skimpy underwear that left little to the imagination also had 27 white gold tassels hanging off it.
Danielle Luminita, a brunette model from Romania, was carried down the runway on the shoulders of two male models wearing only the diamond thong.

Eye Scratched From Thong
Fifty-two-year-old Macrida Patterson, who works in parking enforcement for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, says she suffered a scratched cornea after either a pendant or a metal fastener snapped off a pair of panties and struck her in the eye.
"It does seem sort of unbelievable at first," said Patterson's attorney, Jason Buccat. But, he said, his client's injuries will "affect her for the rest of her life."
Tammy Roberts Myers, a Victoria's Secret spokeswoman, said the company had not seen the lawsuit and had no comment.
Apparently the thong failed to meet industry standards. I suppose we can expect warning labels next:
Warning: For external use only. Keep thong away from eyes. In case of swallowing, drink milk. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.

Cuting End Science Develop Anti-aging Regimens

This is a good time to have some wrinkles on your face. No, really. In the past few years there have been groundbreaking advances in plastic surgery, dermatology and the ever-expanding anti-aging cosmetic industry.
face
More cosmetic companies are diving into cutting edge science to develop the next anti-aging regimens.
Back in the day, your mom probably used a wrinkle cream on her face that promised to "hydrate" her skin and reduce fine lines. These days the buzzwords are anti-oxidants, enzymes, gene therapy and nano molecules.
If you have some fine lines, a few wrinkles but you're not yet ready for the "f" word (facelift), an anti-aging cream might be right for you. But before settling on a product, you'd do well to brush up on your first-year chemistry.
"We are using nano liposome technology with a capsule so small that is gets absorbed through the hair follicles and releases the active ingredient into your skin," said John Kressaty, head chemist at 3Lab, Inc.
"Nano liposome is a very small particle that is able to pass through the skin to deliver vital nutrients. Five years ago, technology was limited where the products only stayed on the surface of the skin and now, with new technology, the molecules are easily absorbed topically," adds Stephanie Scott, public relations director for 3LAB, Inc.

Transform Your Shoes

But a few designers are trying. They're offering shoes that can change — from high heel to low heel, from one size to a bigger size, from one outer skin to another — for better fashion, comfort or fit.
It's only a tiny trend in the $45-billion-a-year U.S. footwear market, but it's notable that shoe engineers are trying to alter an aspect of human apparel unchanged for centuries.
"More technology is being applied to shoes than has ever happened before," says shoe historian Elizabeth Semmelhack, curator of the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto.
•Adjustable heels. Camileon Heels developed a new kind of shoe last, or form, that allows the heel to go from 3¼ to 1½ inches. Pull down on the heel, push it forward and tuck it under the arch of the shoe.

Beauty Is Judged

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but the secret of what constitutes an attractive face could actually lie in a mathematical formula originally devised by artists like Leonardo da Vinci.
Scientists at the University of Nebraska say they have developed software that can predict whether or not a face will be deemed beautiful, using a calculation that calibrates the symmetry and geometry of the face.
Amazingly, the boffins' beauty results are practically identical to a code that da Vinci and the Old Masters followed to paint perfect beauty back in the 15th century.
The Renaissance artists used six Neo-Classical criteria as a guide to defining a beautiful face, among them being that the width of the face must be four times the width of the nose. In addition, the code stipulated that the height of the forehead, length of the nose and the height of the lower face must all be of equal length.
Last week, biostatisticians confirmed that out of the six Renaissance beauty rules used in their computer programme, only one turned out to be wrong. That was the so-called 'divine proportion' or 'golden ratio' between mouth and nose width (the artists said the ratio should be 1.5, whereas the scientists found it to be 1.618).
The rules were then tested on 36 volunteers who responded strongly to those 'ideal' Renaissance traits in pictures of celebrities like Meg Ryan, Rock Hudson and Keanu Reeves. To add to the theory, a recent documentary on Kate Moss argued that her features have the golden ratio of 1.618, which could explain her phenomenal popularity as a model.
So, just how has the Renaissance formula stood the test of time? It could be because the criteria incorporate the basic psychological triggers that alert the mind to beauty -- and ultimately to sexual reproduction.
Just A Fact

After the terrorist attacks of 2001 deflated the economy, Mr. Lauder noticed that his company was selling more lipstick than usual. He hypothesized that lipstick purchases are a way to gauge the economy. When it’s shaky, he said, sales increase as women boost their mood with inexpensive lipstick purchases instead of $500 slingbacks.
Beauty brands remain true believers in the theory, even though in the last few years the lipstick market has fallen on hard times as its glistening cousin, lip gloss, has had robust sales. Shop for designer makeup at 60% saving at: http://www.venusandmarz.com

Brain Surgeons Fear Of Cellphones
What do brain surgeons know about cellphone safety that the rest of us don't?
Last week, three prominent neurosurgeons told the CNN interviewer Larry King that they did not hold cellphones next to their ears. "I think the safe practice," said Dr. Keith Black, a surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, "is to use an earpiece so you keep the microwave antenna away from your brain."
Dr. Vini Khurana, an associate professor of neurosurgery at the Australian National University who is an outspoken critic of cellphones, said: "I use it on the speaker-phone mode. I do not hold it to my ear."
And CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a neurosurgeon at Emory University Hospital, said that like Black he used an earpiece.ip N

Appetite Control Tricks

Appetite control foods that suppress cravings without adding calories
There are many strategies that help reduce hunger: avoiding refined carbohydrates, getting plenty of natural sunlight on your skin, drinking large amounts of water on a regular basis, and getting plenty of fiber in your diet. But there is nothing that absolutely eliminates hunger. The bottom line is that if you are going to lose weight, you are going to experience hunger at one time or another.
In other words, if you eat two cups of cashews versus two cups of cabbage, your body can't really tell the difference for the first few minutes. Your stomach will turn off the hunger signals thinking you have eaten a large quantity of food regardless of whether you are eating cabbage or cashews, but in fact the cabbage may only contain 20 calories while the cashews contain as much as 900 or even 1000 calories. Two cups of cashews provides probably half the calories you need for the entire day, whereas two cups of cabbage provides virtually no calories whatsoever. You burn off the cabbage just digesting it. (Raw cabbage is, in fact, an outright cure for ulcers. But that's another article...)Your next choice, if water does not do the trick for you, is to purchase a 32-ounce quart of natural, organic vegetable broth. You can get organic vegetable broth from Trader Joe's, health food stores, or even many of the finer grocery stores that have a natural health section. The key is to get organic vegetable broth that does not contain excitotoxins. Emergency appetite control food #2
The next best strategy is to turn to green vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, bokchoy, and other leafy vegetables. They have so few calories that in my own diet, I don't even count them. That's right: I allow myself to eat an unlimited quantity of any green leafy vegetables without even recording the number of calories I have consumed. In my book, they are "free" foods.Emergency appetite control food #5:
Here's an easy one: apples. Yep, apples. Eat the largest apple you can find. Sure, you'll get some calories and some carbs, but the apple will fill you up for quite a while, and that will stop you from eating far more calorie-dense foods. How to further suppress your appetite:
One more supplementary strategy to all of this is that you can multiply the appetite suppressing effects of all foods by swallowing a couple of fiber tablets before you begin eating. Fiber tablets or capsules would include psyllium husk, glucomannan, oat bran fiber, apple pectin fiber, or other natural fibers. You can find fiber supplements at any health food store. Be careful to watch the dosage of the fiber and drink plenty of water as you take these pills because without adequate water, they can gum up in your digestive tract and in extreme cases, they can block your digestive tract. So, you want to drink plenty of water with them.
By consuming both the fiber and the water before you start eating, you've already significantly turned off your appetite. Then by consuming these extremely low caloric density foods and beverages, you will further suppress your appetite. You can get an entire meal into your stomach for 100 calories or less and you can trick your brain into thinking you consumed an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Wellness With Speed

Dr. Noah McKay has written an insightful, inspiring book that provides us with a compelling new paradigm for healing transformation. It's called Wellness at Warp Speed, and the book is not about telling you what to do to enhance your health. Rather, it's about inviting you to experiencing a new way of thinking about health, healing and your connection with the physical and energetic universe around you. Written for the layperson, Wellness at Warp Speed introduces ideas that free readers from the outdated, limiting mindset offered by conventional medicine, inviting them to explore a world where mind-body interactions take place at warp speed, and where the laws of quantum physics can be tapped to accelerate the healing experience of every human being.
Dr. Noah takes you on a journey- to the horizons of health and wellness and the untapped resource that is you.

Lipo Disolve Gaining Popularity After FDA Approval
12 to 15 years of patient injections in Europe and more recently in the USA,
Lipodissolve will continue to increase its popularity, as people continue to have "second thoughts" about full scale cosmetic surgery to deal with a fat tummy…loose skin…even body fat deposits in the eyelids. Lipodissolve helps you with small-to-medium body fat deposits such as on your hips…chin…under your bra line with excessively fat breasts…behind your knees…helps you to get rid of chin fat…lumpy neck fat…fat under your arms and more.
Typical Treatment Plan. For example how to lose back fat with lipodissolve would require an initial health screening with your doctor who'll review your medical and health history, determine your weight, explain the Body Mass Index concept and how your body shapes up in terms of your personal BMI rating. You'll receive a series of injections, 4 to 6 times. Treatments will be spaced about 2 weeks apart. Results will be more evident after about two months.

Incense Is Good For The Brain
Religious leaders have contended for millennia that burning incense is good for the soul. Now, biologists have learned that it is good for our brains too. An international team of scientists, including researchers from Johns Hopkins University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, describe how burning frankincense (resin from the Boswellia plant) activates poorly understood ion channels in the brain to alleviate anxiety or depression. This suggests that an entirely new class of depression and anxiety drugs might be right under our noses.

New Benefits From Massage
Massage for mind and body.
You might think of a massage as a luxury found in exotic spas and upscale health clubs. But did you know that massage, when combined with traditional medical treatments, can reduce stress and promote healing in people with certain health conditions?
Anxiety - Massage reduced anxiety in depressed children and anorexic women. It also reduced anxiety and withdrawal symptoms in adults trying to quit smoking.
Pain- Pain was decreased in studies of people with fibromyalgia, migraines and recent surgeries. Back pain also might be relieved by massage. However, back pain study results have been contradictory, and more research is required.
Self-esteem -Because massage involves direct contact with another person through
touch, it can make you feel cared for.
Alcohol withdrawal- Massage during withdrawal from alcohol has shown benefits when
support, safety and engagement in the therapy.
Sports-related soreness.A massage might help increase blood flow to your muscles and may reduce muscle soreness after you exercise

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. Originally, it was meant to help people deepen their understanding of the sacred and mystical forces of life. These days, many people turn to meditation for relaxation and stress reduction.
Meditation produces a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and emotional stability. And these effects don't end when your meditation session ends. Meditation can have lasting effects on your emotional and physical well-being.

Relax- Breathe In Breathe Out
Have you ever noticed how you breathe when you're stressed? Stress typically causes rapid, shallow breathing. This kind of breathing sustains other aspects of the stress response, such as rapid heart rate and perspiration. If you can get control of your breathing, the spiraling effects of acute stress will automatically become less intense. Relaxed breathing, also called diaphragmatic breathing, can help you.
Practice this basic technique twice a day, every day, and whenever you feel tense. Follow these steps:
▪ Inhale. With your mouth closed and your shoulders relaxed, inhale as slowly and deeply as you can to the count of six. As you do that, push your stomach out. Allow the air to fill your diaphragm.
▪ Hold. Keep the air in your lungs as you slowly count to four.
▪ Exhale. Release the air through your mouth as you slowly count to six.
▪ Repeat. Complete the inhale-hold-exhale cycle three to five times.
Relaxation is a skill. As with any skill, your ability to relax improves with practice. Be patient with yourself. Stay motivated to lessen the negative impact of stress on your body and to experience a greater sense of calm in your life.

Bullfrogs A Competitor to Botox

According to a new study, Botox may soon have a new competitor – bullfrogs.
South Korean researchers are saying that the bullfrog may contain a beneficial anti-aging substance that humans could use, French news agency AFP reports.
Professor Kim Se-kwon’s team from Pukyong University in Busan, South Korea, identified the substance as peptide with antioxidant properties that come right from the frog’s skin.
Kim said the properties in the substance are useful in removing free radicals, or molecules that slow the aging process of human cells.

Broccoli - On Your Fork Or Face

An extract made from broccoli sprouts boosts the body's natural ability to defend against the ultraviolet solar rays that cause skin cancer, reveals a study conducted by researchers at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. If a product could be developed from the extract, it could even provide key advantages over typical sunscreens lotions, which contain numerous carcinogenic (cancer-causing) chemicals.
"If you apply an extract of broccoli sprouts that contains high levels of sulforaphane to regions of human skin, you can protect them very substantially," said study co-leader Paul Talalay. "We believe, to the best of our knowledge, that this is the first demonstration of protection against a known human carcinogen in humans."

Buddha And Mindfullness
What is "mindfulness" ?
"Mindfulness" is nonjudgmental, moment to moment awareness --- our experience of being here, now.
Mindfulness can be cultivated by deciding to pay attention to things that we normally never give a moment's thought to :
• .... Like the sounds you are hearing right now .... .... or the feeling of your eyes as they scan this text .... .... Can you feel your next breath beginning ? .............
This is mindfulness.
Has been useful for such conditions as :
• chronic pain
• anxiety and panic
• sleep disturbance & insomnia
• gastrointestinal distress
• fatigue
• headaches
• job or family stress
• skin disorders
• high blood pressure
• stress factors in heart disease

Be Protected With These Top Three
My top 3 nutrients for human health
Speaking of top nutrients for human health, would you like to know what I think are the top 3 most important nutrients for human health? They are:
#1: Vitamin D
#2: Omega-3 fatty acids
#3: Astaxanthin
Vitamin D is crucial, of course, due to its miracle-class ability to halt cancer (77% of ALL cancers are prevented by vitamin D alone!), to ease depression, boost bone health, enhance heart health and much, much more. It's the single most impressive nutrient I've ever found. Nothing beats vitamin D in terms of the number of important health benefits derived from a single substance.
Next comes omega-3 fatty acids, which have proven to be miraculous, too, in terms of preventing cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, depression and much more. Plus, you can get these from plant sources (like chia seeds or flax seeds) or animal source (fish oil, krill oil, etc.).
And now, astaxathin joins my list as the third most important nutrient for human health. It is the "King of the carotenoids," as they say, and it has the ability to ease systemic inflammation, protect the eyes and brain from oxidative damage, prevent cancer, protect the body from dangerous foods, enhance skin health and even protect the skin from excessive UV sun exposure. It's truly miraculous.

The Human Body Is Field Of Ideas

What we see we become. What we touch, we become. Even our memories are constantly transforming themselves into physical reactions in our body. Our interpretation of reality, our interpretation of our body-mind, generates all kinds of biochemical reactions inside us. These interpretations become memories, and the memories spontaneously trigger transformations without our knowing it. And where are these memories located? These memories are everywhere.
They are non-locally present in our soul, they manifest in our brain cells, and they get encoded in every cell of our body.
Your body is a field of ideas, and the body you’re experiencing right now is an expression of all of the ideas you have about it. If you have the idea that your body is a physical machine, that it’s supposed to age a certain way, that it gets imbalanced because of environmental changes, all of these ideas translate into chemical changes in the body. If these ideas change, and they will change according to scientific discovery, then just that change in how you view the body will spontaneously cause transformations in the body.Deepak Chopra, M.D

Lipodissolve That Fat

An incredible new discovery to get rid of unsightly, bulging bags under the eyes - without resorting to the surgeon's knife - has taken America by storm. The method is equally successful for the reduction of double chins and the removal of localised, stubborn fat on the waistline, hips, thighs, knees and abdomen.
Lipodissolve (lipostabil) , a treatment pioneered by doctors in South America, is based on a substance made up of Soya oil and originally developed to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. In medicine it is used to fight fat globules without any adverse side effects even at as high a dose as 80ml per session. At a lower dosage, minute drops of Phosphatidylcholine - which has fat dissolving properties - are injected into the lower eyelid area, where it acts to disperse accumulated fat deposits. The result is a significant reduction of the bulge after 2 to 4 treatments. Higher dosages are used to disperse body fat pads.
Clinical trials were carried out over two years on this simple non-surgical procedure, and after successfully completing the required criteria, they were submitted for publication to the Medical Journal USA in 2001. 2000 cases have already been treated in South America without any single adverse effect.
Hailed as one of the most exciting new treatments for years, Lipodissolve does away with the traditional fat vacuum method altogether. Instead, it claims to dispose of those unwanted inches by injecting a drug called lipostabil into the offending bulge. It breaks down the walls of the fatty cells and the waste is then flushed out when you go to the loo. Mesotherapy was given formal recognition by the French Academy of Medicine in 1987 and was pioneered by Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952. Presently, over 15,000 medical practitioners provide Mesotherapy throughout Europe, Great Britain and South America.
Mesotherapy has been used in the treatment of acne, arthritis and joint problems, sports injuries as well as for cosmetic purposes, such as reducing cellulite and weight loss. While each Mesotherapy treatment may involve hundreds of small injections, the treatment sessions typically take only minutes to complete.
Mesotherapy — over the course of approximately 10 sessions — blocks our ability to store fat and stimulates our ability to burn it up.

Anti-aging Skin Products Launched From Stem Cell Research
National Stem Cell has revealed that it is set to launch a new range of anti-aging products that have been developed using stem cell research.
Tropelastin produced by human embryonic stem cells has been utilised by the company's subsidiary Decouverte Cosmetique in skin firming products, CosmeticsDesign.com reports.
Chief executive of National Stem Cell Michael Cohen told the website that it is this chemical that can provide women with a 'glow' after they conceive.
He added that the company had used pre-2001 stem cells and neither destroyed nor created any cells during product development.
Some scientists have criticised the use of stem cell research in the development of cosmetic products because they say the technology is not yet advanced enough to deliver drastic results.
"The notion that you could do that with a cream is a little bit ahead of itself," dermatologist Dr Kenneth Beer told the LA Times. "It's a great piece of marketing because there is so much interest in stem cells."

Beauty Is Going High-tech!
Beauty is going high-tech!
Whether your problem is thinning hair or acne, there are a few hot, new products on that claim to take away everything from wrinkles to too much hair. The products use some of the same technologies that a dermatologist may have used on you -- lasers, LED lights, and infrared light -- and you can use them all in your own home.

Water Hype?
Drinking a lot of water is supposed to be healthy, but there is apparently little scientific support for the belief. A review of clinical studies has found no evidence that drinking eight glasses of water a day, the usual recommendation, is beneficial to a healthy person.
Numerous claims have been made about water — that it prevents headaches, removes dangerous “poisons,” improves the function of various organs and is associated with reduced risk for various diseases. But none of these is supported by scientific evidence. The authors were not even able to find a study leading to the “eight glasses a day” rule, whose origin remains unknown.
The researchers, in the June issue of The Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, say some studies have found evidence that drinking extra water helps the kidneys clear sodium, and long-term sodium retention might increase the risk of hypertension, but no clinical significance for the phenomenon has been established. Water also helps clear urea, but urea is not a toxin.
There is “intriguing” evidence that water might help decrease appetite and control weight gain, write the authors, who say this might be worth more research.
“Under normal circumstances,” said Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, a co-author and a professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, “drinking extra water is unnecessary. I want to relieve people of the burden of schlepping water bottles around all day long.”

Victoria Secret's Sued For Patent Infringement
A New York woman filed suit against Limited Brands Inc Monday alleging the parent company of Victoria's Secret stole her idea for its Very Sexy 100-way strapless convertible bra.
Katerina Plew sued in U.S. District Court in lower Manhattan, saying Victoria's Secret infringed her May 2004 patent and knew about the patent since at least April 2006.
"I came up with the idea when I was trying to find a bra to go with one of the two dresses that I could wear to my triplets' christening," said Plew, 38. "I went crazy looking for a bra where the straps wouldn't show and couldn't find anything."
Her triplets are now nine years old.
Plew, a single mother who works as a paralegal, said she researched her product visiting stores and looking through catalogues, and "that's when I came up with the idea."
She said she spent about $12,000 to patent the product and developed a prototype.
"When I realized how much it would cost to produce, I started contacting companies," she said.
Plew had an appointment to meet with a Victoria's Secret executive to whom she had mailed a copy of her patent, as well as a DVD with pictures of a model showing her bra, only to have the appointment abruptly canceled.
"A year later I walked into a Victoria's Secret and there was my bra up on the wall," she said.
The bra retails for between $50 and $56, according to the Victoria's Secret website. Plew is seeking unspecified damages.
Limited Brands said it does not comment on pending litigation.
